Coconut Plantation to revive the economy of locals of Puri District

Puri: Shri Balwant Singh, Collector & DM, Puri along with Shri Subash Nathsharma, P.D. DRDA accompanied by Shri Saroja Kumar Dutta, B.D.O. Satyabadi, Shri Subash Kumar Mahanta, D.D.H. Sakhigopal, Shri Patitapaban Samantaray, A.D.H. Sakhigopal visited the below mentioned coconut plantation beneficiaries out of MGNREGS scheme of Shriramchandrapur G.P. on 24th August.

Due to the devastation caused by super cyclone “Fani” the inhabitants of Satyabadi Block lost their earnings from coconut plants. To revive their livelihood, district administration has taken up massive coconut plantation drive with 3002 families covering area of 534.5 hectors.

It also helps the migrants as well as the local people those who have lost their livelihood due to this COVID-19 Pandemic to earn a fair amount.

After the field visit, a review cum interactive session with the GRSs and Udyan Sathis was conducted in the premises of the Office of the D.D.H. Sakhigopal. The Collector advised all the participants to achieve the target with both qualitative & quantitative approach.
The collector also conducted a review meeting of tagged officers under rural housing scheme to complete maximum incomplete houses of previous years and also complete sanction of all 296 houses of FY 2020-21 by 31st August.
