Bhubaneswar: A low-pressure area is likely to form over northwest Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood around August 13. Resultantly a Yellow Warning has been issued for several districts of Odisha till August 16, said the latest bulletin from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).
The monsoon trough at the mean sea level now passes through Bikaner, Sikar, Gwalior, Sidhi, Dehri, Dhanbad, Kolkata and thence south-eastwards to Northeast Bay of Bengal and extends up to 0.9 km above mean sea level.
Coming to predictions for today, i.e. for August 11, heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Boudh, Kandhamal. Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of South Interior Odisha & at a few places over the rest districts of Odisha.
Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Angul, Jharsuguda, Kendrapada Bargarh, Subarnapur on August 12.
For August 13, heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Kendrapada Jagatsinghpur, Kandhamal.
Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Angul, Boudh, Subarnapur, Balangir, Sambalpur, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Ganjam on August 14.
For August 15, heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sambalpur, Subarnapur, Balangir, Bargarh. Additionally, heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Kalahandi, Boudh, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Jharsuguda, Nabarangpur.
It will be generally cloudy sky with light rain in Bhubaneswar. Maximum and Minimum temperature very likely to be around 33°C and 27°C respectively, said the daily bulletin from IMD.
