Bhubaneswar: The Member of Legislative Assembly of Khandapada constituency Soumya Ranjan Patnaik has tested positive for COVID-19.
Patnaik took to Twitter to share his health update. He is the fifth legislator from Odisha to get infected with the deadly novel coronavirus.
Nilagiri MLA Sukanata Nayak was the first MLA in the State to have contracted the disease. Sudhansu Sekhar Parida, the legislator from Remuna constituency had tested positive for COVID-19 after coming in contact with Nayak. Prasat Behera, the legislator from Salipur in Cuttack district, had also tested positive for COVID-19. Next, Polasara MLA Srikant Sahu and his wife became infected with the coronavirus.
