Bhubaneswar: A minor boy, who was allegedly attacked by some miscreants at Bharatpur area few days ago, died while undergoing treatment at a hospital here on Tuesday.
According to sources, the assailants attacked the minor with sharp weapons when the latter had gone to buy groceries on September 2 evening.
The boy sustained serious injuries in the attack and rushed to a hospital. However, the minor died last night while undergoing treatment, sources added.
Meanwhile, the family members of the deceased have leveled murder allegation and demanded stringent action against the attackers.
“Two drug addicts of Bharatpur locality have hacked my son when he had gone to buy groceries. The duo must be hanged,” said the mother of the deceased.
“The attacker thrashed my brother before attacking him with a sharp weapon. My brother sustained serious head injuries in the attack. When we went to file a complaint in this regard to the local police outpost, they did not accept it and said us to file an FIR at a nearby police station,” said the brother of the deceased.
Till the last report came in, Khandagiri police have arrested four persons in connection with the case.
