Bhubaneswar: Even when the entire nation is fighting the pandemic at hand, Odisha is leading by example. On Tuesday, it achieved the feat of conducting the highest Covid tests per million per day.
While the national average is at 542, Odisha notched 1096. A close second is neighbour Andhra Pradesh with 920, followed by Tamil Nadu at 915. Worst-affected states such as Delhi is at 595, Maharashtra is at 354 and Karnataka is at 818. The lowest was from Rajasthan with just 168.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik took to Twitter to share the feat. He also thanked everyone for ‘scaling up testing facilities on a war footing and strengthening Odisha’s effort to save every precious life’.
