Air India Plane Crash: Odisha CM Mourns Lives Lost In the crash, Prays For Speedy Recovery Of Injured

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has mourned the tragic loss of lives in the crash landing of Air India Express Flight IX 1344 from Dubai in Kozhikode Airport.

Taking to Twitter Patnaik has expressed his deep sadness over the loss of lives in the crash landing and has prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.

“Deeply saddened to know about the tragic loss of so many lives after the crash landing of #AirIndia flight in #Kozhikode Airport. My thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families who have lost their dear ones and pray for the speedy recovery of those who are injured,” tweeted Patnaik using his personal handle @Naveen_Odisha.

As many as 18 people were killed in the Air India Express flight crash at Kerala’s Kozhikode airport that occurred at 7:41 PM on yesterday after the plane skidded off the runway and fell into a 35-feet valley before splitting.

The pilot-in-command Captain Deepak Vasanth Sathe and his co-pilot Akhilesh Kumar were among those killed on board the Dubai-Calicut Air India Express aircraft carrying 190 passengers as part of the Vande Bharat Mission.

As per the latest update, DGCA officials have told news agencies that digital flight data recorder, cockpit voice recorder of the ill-fated Air India Express plane have been recovered at Kozhikode crash site.
