One Widow from Kendrapara is starving for food : Details Here

After 73 years of independence our people still sleeping with hunger. Our Government is introducing schemes after schemes for them, Schemes like 5T was also introduced to give people justice. But still the condition of poor yet to change. There is no one to stand behind the poor and the needy.

We have received a report from Kendrapara Block, Dhumanta village. At Dhumanta village Sabita Das, wife of late Pareswar Das is living.

 Sabita’s livelihood was dependent on the little income of her husband and the 35 kg rice which she was getting through the “Antadwoya Yogana” of state govt. But after sudden demise of her husband situation changed drastically for her. She was living with her two kids and suffering from renal failure of Kidney’s, high blood pressure and diabetes.

She was depending on the 35kg rice which was supplied by the Antodaya Yojana. But suddenly that was also stopped by the local Sarpanch. Sarpanch changed it to a Rasan card and the 35 kg rice comes to 15 kg for her family.

“The rice is also not available regularly, we able to get it once in 4 or 6 months. My Idira awas home was also not completed as the money is taken by the Sarpanch Mr. Narahari Pani.” Sabita said while controlling her emotion.

Now they are survived by her four years son who used to beg in nearby areas and bring some food for them.

Meanwhile, few local youth’s come out for her help and she has given a written application to the District Collector Sri Samarth Verma few days back.

Going through the facts The District Collector immediately sanctioned Ten thousand rupees to her and promised to look in to this matter.
