Odisha Gears Up For Matric Supplementary Exam From Sept 14 Amid COVID-19 Pandemic

Bhubaneswar: School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash on Friday informed that 22649 students will appear in HSC Supplementary Examination 2020 to be held at 153 centres across the state from September 14.

Besides, 12,939 students will take the State Open School Certificate Examination, which will also begin on the same day, at 88 centres.

The exams, conducted by Board of Secondary Education (BSE), will continue till September 24.

On September 7, the Board had released admit cards for these exams.

Normally, the supplementary exams are conducted in the month of June in Odisha every year. However, the dates got pushed this year due to the pandemic.

“All centre superintendents have been asked to strictly follow COVID-19 guidelines during the examinations,” the minister added.
He further said that collectors of all the districts have been requested to extend support for smooth conduct of the examinations. The police administration has been directed to make security arrangements at the examination centres.
Similarly, the District Education Officers have been requested to make arrangements for sanitization of the examination centres each day after conduct of the examination and make overall supervision of the examination.
Evaluation of the answer-sheets of the supplementary exam will be carried out at 13 centres and that of Open School Certificate Examination at seven centres.
The Board has also sought the co-operation of all the district administrations, the police administration and the teacher community in conducting the examinations smoothly following the COVID-19 guidelines.
