District Headquarters Hospital in Bargarh Shut For 3 Days After Doctors, Nurses Test COVID-19 Positive

Bargarh: The district administration has decided to close down the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for three days from Thursday after some doctors and nurses tested positive for novel coronavirus.

According to sources, the Bargarh Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) Dr Arun Kumar Patra has urged the infected doctors and medical staff to undergo self-isolation and ordered to sanitise the hospital.

“Some pediatricians along with four doctors and nurses from other departments tested positive for coronavirus following which we decided to shut the hospital for three days to carry out sanitisation work,” Patra said.

Meanwhile, patients undergoing treatment at the DHH are being discharged while the critical ones are being shifted to the old DHH and Burla hospital, sources informed.

Bargarh, so far, has reported 3,941 COVID-19 positive cases of which 1,781 are still active. While 2,151 patients were cured from the disease, the virus has so far claimed 9 lives in the district.
