River Kusei brings sorrow To the life of the Farmers of Anandapur

Anandapur: River kusei is a tributary river of Baitarani.At pachupalli,kusei meets Baitarani.In recent flood Baitarani gets heavy rain water from KEONJHAR,champua on it’s way to Anandapur.At Anandapur it was flowing 38.88mt high over it’s danger level.ie.38.36 mt.

Due to heavy rain in Anandapur sub division the water joined with Baitarani,and is in pick of its capacity.

River kusei is the main carrier of the rain water from verious areas of anandpur .

The Panchupalli project situated at the sangam point of both the rivers is yet to be completed. The check dam was not functional and the doors are not fittedin it .So,the excess water of Baitarani gets into the various pachayats like pachupalli,haridapal and some areas of belabahali.

These pachayats are the food granary of anandpur. Specially vegetable like potal(Pointed gourd ),bittergroud, ground nuts, sugarcane, brinjal, tomato are the main vagitable what farmers grow here.

But due to flood water these farm lands are devastated resulting huge loss by affecting the financial backbone of the farmers.At the same time it also affect the market resulting the hike in price of all vegetables.So,the people of these areas are demanding to complete the project as soon as possible.
