Odisha: 74% Villages In Khordha District Have No Covid-19 Positives

Bhubaneswar: As many as 74% of the villages in Khordha district are in the green category, where no Covid-19 positive cases have been reported in the last 14 days, claimed Khordha Collector Sanat Kumar Mohanty.

“Our focus is now to covert the villages under red category to green category,” said Mohanty addressing a presser on Covid-19 situation in rural Khordha at the Geeta Govinda Sadan here today.

The strategy will be to ensure that infection doesn’t spread to the villages which are in the green category, he added.

The Collector said that so far as many as 40,975 people have been tested for Covid-19 and out of them 35,449 have tested negative.

He informed that out of all who had tested for Covid-19 in the district excluding BMC area only 34% had tested positive.

Currently, out of the total positive cases in the district, only 35% are from Khordha rural.

Khordha district comprises of ten blocks, 190 GPs, 1,358 villages, 4 ULBs and 71 wards.
