COVID-19: Night Curfew To Remain, Weekend Shutdown In Four Districts & Rourkela, Gyms To Reopen

Bhubaneswar: The night curfew in Odisha will remain for the month of August. Additional Chief Secretary and Special Relief Commissioner, Pradeep Kumar Jena said, movement of person will be restricted and establishments will remain closed from 9 pm to 5 am during the month of August in entire Odisha.

The SRC added, “During the month of August, in four districts of the State – Ganjam, Gajapati, Khurda and Cuttack and Rourkela Municipal Corporation area, weekend shutdown will be imposed.”

“Strict lockdown in containment zones has been extended till August 31. On August 1 and 2, the shutdown will be enforced from 1 pm to 9 pm. All shops and activities can continue from 5 am to 1 pm,” Jena said.

Gyms will be allowed to open in the state from August 5. The SRC added that religious institutions, cinema halls and theatres will remain closed for the public till August 31. Teaching activities in school, college coaching institutions will be restricted till August 31.
