Cuttack: Behera Sahi (Ward No.38) in Malgodown area of Cuttack city has been declared as a containment zone by the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) following the detection of 11 positive cases of Covid-19 from the area.
An order in this regard was issued by CMC Commissioner Ananya Das on Wednesday.
The order said that since the area is densely populated and it requires detailed measures for active contact tracing. Therefore, to facilitate this it is necessary to make the area as a containment zone and to restrict public from entering into and going out of the containment zone.
The area bounded by Rajkishore Rout Godown to house of Deba Behera on the south, house of N Mahalaxmi to house of Nayan Mohanty via backside of Hotel Puspanjali on the north, house of Deba Behera to house of N Mahalaxmi via house of R Laxmi on the west, house of Nayan Mohanty to Raj Kishore Rout Godown via house of AK Mohanty on east has been declared as containment zone.
All vehicular movement, movement of public transport, and personnel movement will remain stopped, the order stated.
All inhabitants within the containment zone shall strictly remain at home, the order added.
All the shopping establishments of whatsoever nature shall remain closed and all government and private institutions located within the aforementioned boundary of the containment zone will remain closed, the order said.
The CMC has appointed nodal officers to ensure smooth supply od essentials/facilities in respect of the containment zone.
Cuttack city has been witnessing a spike in Covid-19 cases in the last few days.
