Pintu Nanda Odia Cine Actor Accused Of Casting Couch

Bhubaneswar: The ugly side of Odia film industry has come to fore as a struggling actress has accused director Pintu Nanda and his associates of the casting couch.

The actress lodged a complaint in Nayapalli police station. The police have accepted her complaint and filed a case under IPC Act 1860 Sections 294, 506, 34.

As per her complaint, one Manash had gotten her in touch with Nanda and was later cast in a serial in an Odia TV channel named ‘Sarthak TV’.

On July 28 she got a call for the shoot and first taken to Cuttack’s CDA, then to Bhubaneswar’s Patia and finally to Nayapalli area. She was asked if she has been informed in detail and when she denied, Pintu Nanda allegedly asked her to make ‘compromises’ and ‘satisfy’ big names in the industry to gain fame.

“Feeling uncomfortable, I tried to leave the shoot but was spoken in vulgar language and forced to not leave the set. Pintu Nanda and his associates also forced me to sit in a car which already had four people in it, “said the complainant.

At last, when she was allowed to leave, she was threatened with dire consequences. Gathering courage, she lodged a complaint on July 29.
