National Energy Conservation Day 2020

National energy conservation day is celebrated every year by the people all over the India on 14th of December. The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) implemented The Energy Conservation Act in India in 2001 and aims at raising awareness among the general public about the importance of conservation and energy efficiency. Conservation means using the available resources judiciously and/or preventing wastage of energy through efficient methods. The aim is to promote the process of energy conservation, organizing many programs like discussion, conferences, debates, workshops, and competitions in the whole country.

This program is intended to reduce the energy consumption of appliances by providing the consumer with an informed choice about the energy saving and thereby the cost saving potential of the product. It was initiated for equipment and appliances in 2006.
